ICE Conference 2009 – A Great Conference

This past week, I had the good fortune of being asked to conduct a full day workshop and a presentation at the Illinois Computer Educator’s conference in St. Charles. I feel privileged to be honored to do so, as I feel that this conference is one of the best around the country. The quality of available speakers within a 40 mile radius of the conference site rivals that of any conference that I have been to. It includes folks such as (and not entirely inclusive, for I am sure that I will be missing someone) Charlene Chausis, David Jakes, Steve Dembo, Scott Meech, Ryan Bretag, Ben Grey, Gail Soriano, Scott Weidig, Carol Broos, Henry Theile, Nadine Norris, Anne Truger, Lucy Gray, Lori Abrahms, Joe Brennan, just to name a few.

In addition, the conference has a wonderful lineup of keynotes and spotlight speakers. This year brought Chris Lehmann, Kevin Honeycutt, Sharon Peters, Jen Wagner, Cheryl Lykowski, and Dr. Yong Zhao to name a few. In the past, we have been treated to David Warlick, Tim Lauer, Will Richardson, Vicki Davis, Steve Hargadon. We are truly blessed at the vision and insight of the conference organizers.

Once again, I learned so much from sessions and connecting with friends, both new and old, at the conference. And thanks to the foresight of the conference organizers, those of you who were unable to attend can access the material remotely, from the conference wiki to the conference archived streams from many of the presentations.

Thank you for putting on a great conference and see you next February!
