Back in the Saddle Again

Like many, we returned back to school on Monday, January 8th. I always find the first week back after an extended break challenging. This year was no different, as I had multiple projects starting and there was a significant amount of preparation that was required in order to get these projects off of the group.

This is also a time to sit down with the administrators and plan for the second third of the year. There are a number of projects that the division heads in my school would like to implement between now and the end of the school year. These are also very exciting and I will share several of these as I have a chance to reflect.

This is also the time of the year that we start pulling out the technology plan and make decisions for the next academic year. We do this so that, in theory, we can have the time to thoughtfully plan for the changes that we will implement in during the summer for the fall, including professional development opportunities.

I am really excited about all of the projects which will be happening throughout the year. One of my resolutions this year was to share with all of you the various projects as they progress, to share with you thoughts on rethinking time, as I am getting comfortable with my role as the Scheduler and work on our Strategic Plan, and thoughts about technology leadership and getting teachers to develop personal learning plans.

I look forward to your comments and assistance on these topics.
